I just came across the News about Donations by Indian Legal Immigrant to the US hospital. Link is given below

I am sure there are several other legal immigrants donations to the US hospitals, Colleges and Universities etc.
I am sure that if we can link those all in one thread and later on can be compiled by IV to make strong point that Legal immigrant apart from generating lots of jobs and economical growth for US also contribute generously to various progressive causes, by the wealth that they make because of their creative mind and skills.
On other hand there is a debate about undocumented workers relying on the US tax payers resources.

A background on my case. I have a valid H-1, stamped on my passport. Also, I have my GC in process for 4.5 yrs. My husband was on pending I-485 & working on EAD. In may 2010, my pending I-140 was denied and then appealed. And following that, both mine & my husband's I-485 was denied after 2 months. Our lawyer did file MTR within 30 days of I-485 denial and its still pending:
Questions:
1) Can my husband apply for H-4 by being within USA or he has to leave the country?
2) Also, since he is not on any non-immigrant status, does the accrual of 180 days of illegal stay apply to him?
3) If it does apply, what are the chances of him getting the H-4 approved if he applies from Canada or home country?
4) & If he leaves the country, is he abondoning the pending MTR of I-485 which would lead him be out of the GC process completely?
Any expert input & feedback on my queries will help me to figure out my scenario. I have consulted couple of lawyers on my case, but all of us has mixed feedback which is making it very tough to get the right answer & make the right decision. I am in complete messy situation right now.
Also, if somebody gone thru or going through the similar situation pls. let me know what was the result on your case. Ur help is highly appreciated

Hi All,
I am new to this forum. My husband is working for a desi consulting company and they also filed for my h1. Now my hubby is planning to move out.
When my hubby moves out they might bargain using my h1 approval.
They havent given me a copy of the H1b approval. Could some one tell me the reasons to get the I-797 copy from the consultant?Once I get it I would like to transfer to some good company.
I heard that there is a I-824 form requesting copy when the actual approval notice is lost. Can I file for that and it seems it takes 6 months to get the actual copy.
Does the info pass help here ?

But, there was no significant change in visa policy. "We continue to issue H1B visas with little more scrutiny," Keur said.
He said that, at the same time, the US government has framed a policy for the companies to give preference to native Americans in employment.
Obama administration has taken up a practical approach in establishing relations with the countries while there were efforts in strengthening relations with India because of the "Brain Borrowing", he said.
Keur said there are 3 million Indians in the US who are contributing to its prosperity specially mentioning about the Andhraites who marked their presence in various fields in the US including IT.
Keur said the Hyderabad Consulate, the fourth in the country was established due to the growing trade and development in the state in the IT, biotechnology and pharma sectors."

They are flying from the UK and a group of expats are meeting with the producers on 21st Feb 07 in the Davenport area in Florida which is near Disney
No filiming will take place on wednesday but filming will be on Friday to be confirmed. A famous Newscaster Nick Owen is flying to Florida to take part in the filming

I received the email notification of the case transfer thru the USCIS email updates for the case. My lawyer also leter confirmed that they have received a communication from USCIS on this.

In the last few days there is little news/action about STRIVE act. When this act was proposed all of us got excited and promised to each other to do everything to make it a success. Some of us did make phone calls to lawmakers (as per IV directions) but after that everything seems cooled down. Why are we losing our focus now?
Yes the new Senate bill S.1035 (tightening H1B program) might have put some doubts in our minds; but can we continue our efforts on STRIVE and deal with S.1035 thru amendments when it comes to discussion. Discussion about S.1035 on our forum is fine and in fact we might have to do that to figure out how bad/good it is our specific issues. But in the meantime we have to continue our efforts on STRIVE act too.
